Hungary: Budapest mayor charged for Pride parade
Prosecutors filed charges on Wednesday against Budapest’s opposition mayor for organising the city’s Pride parade last June, which attracted a record turnout despite an official ban. The event was seen as a rebuke against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s years-long clampdown on LGBTQ rights in the name of “child protection”.
