On 27 August 2019 I participated in a round-table organized by Rainbow Families Switzerland on marriage equality. My task was to explain why the current Swiss Constitution allows both marriage for same sex-couples and access to medically assisted pregnancy including sperm donation for married couples. I underlined the fact that it is important to finish the existing discrimination in this respect under federal laws in Switzerland. The Swiss Parliament is currently discussing this and if you have chance to convince an opinion leader in this respect please do it !

China just ruled out introducing same-sex marriage

Transgender people should be allowed in the Swiss army if they meet the conditions of service, says outgoing army chief Philippe Rebord. This comes after a man was turned down for being transgender.  Rebord, who steps down at the end of the year, said in an interview with 20 Minuten newspaper on Friday that he wants army guidelines on the issue revised. The army’s medical guidelines currently provide that being transgender is a reason to declare people unfit for service.    The debate has been sparked by the case of a 21-year-old transgender man who wants to do military service but was refused.
