Republic of Moldova convicted by the ECtHR for discriminating against organizers of an LGBT march in Chișinău

The European Court of Human Rights found that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova violated Genderdoc-M’s right to freedom of assembly without discrimination, following restrictions imposed on a march organized in 2013. The judges held that threats from opponents of the demonstration did not justify limiting the participants’ rights and awarded the organization 4,500 euros for non-pecuniary damage.
